Oak Bookends by Lyndon Hammell aka Cat and Mouseman

£160.00

A superb pair of solid oak bookends by the craftsman and furniture maker Lyndon Hammell (d.2015). He worked at the workshop of the iconic Robert Mouseman Thompson until 1979; then set up his own workshop in Wensleydale. Hammell was one among a group of makers who took on animal names and branded each item they made with animals. Hammell’s signature mark, as seen here on these pieces, was a carving of a cat holding a mouse in it's mouth. These are a fabulous pair of bookends, perfect in their handmade rough hewn style. You can certainly see the hand of the maker. Good rustic condition with a slight line of a natural/ age related opening in the wood.

We can post this to you but it can also be picked up from the HoMV studio in N15. Contact us to arrange collection. Select your option at check-out.

15.5cm height, 9cm depth, 10cm width.
