Mid-Century Abstract Oil on Board Still Life
An abstract, oil on board, impasto still life in gorgeous muddy colours. The artist has signed the painting, and we think dated it as 1960. It has gained some damage over time, both to some corners of the frame and to the painting. There are a couple of holes plus a chip on the board. The frame is vintage but may not be original as there are tiny corner holes and a slight change in colour at the edges of the painting, which suggests another frame was used. The original frame probably covered the white drip of paint that is present. If you don't mind the imperfections, it is a great piece of mid-century original art to have. Ready to hang.
